tell me, how many times have united and chelsea reversed places. for half of last season we didn't have paul scholes, we lost roy keane a lot more abruptly than anyone could have anticipated. at least lampard didn't suddenly leave the club. terry played through injury. many red devils played through injury. scholes played while half blind at times. so often has smith borne the brunt of the opponents' attacks, without complaint, when it shouldn't be his job to do so.

chelsea are not unique. chelsea have it better off than most clubs. not many can push a midfielder into center back and still count on defensive solidity. not many can call upon a 21 million pound winger when the other two are injured. be thankful chelsea. don't complain. it's all even in the end
